Here he is anointing Lorelei with the oil of catechumens for protection from evil and for strengthening in Christ. We then all went to the font (mini bathtub) to have her washed free from sin! Who knew that a 3 month old needed to be washed from sin? But we go with it, because that's what good Catholics do! Thankfully Lorelei seemed to enjoy having the water poured on her (three times).Next she was anointed with chrism, symbolizing her union with Christ.
Finally, the priest says a prayer for the opening of her ears and mouth to hear Christs word and proclaim her faith.
And miraculously this little girl did great through the whole event and without a nap! She earned herself a Baby Born Swim doll when we got home.
We then did all the necessary group photos. Sort of felt like a wedding....
With all the grandparents
We were all very excited to have Nana Lucky make it out from Florida to attend the big event! And like all good Catholics it was time to eat and drink wine! Although it was a bit warm at Bucca Di Beppo it didn't seem to slow us down.
Lorelei's Great-Grandparents, Pop & Barbara
Lorelei's Great-Aunt Susan & Uncle Dinato who were celebrating their Anniversary that day!Lorelei hanging out with my cousin Cari with her mom, Cathy.
The Baileys and the Opfers (with Kelsea). Baby Landon by the way is only 6 mos old! He is as big as Kelsea was at one year! Thanks everyone for making this a wonderful and fun event. It was so nice to see everyone! And a special thanks to Cathy & Jennie for taking all the photos!
