Ten on Tuesday

1. We took advantage of "Veterans go Free" at Knott's Berry Farm last Friday. Kelsea had so much fun, and hasn't stopped talking about Johnnie since. Thankfully Rick and Cathy's sisters came along too, because there were hardly any rides they would let pregnant women on! Check out their blog to see photos from the day. Thanks for taking all these Cathy!

2. I'm almost done Christmas shopping. Trying to decide if I want to be amongst the chaos this weekend to finish up the list. It would be nice to be done, and even nicer if I can find some sweet deals...but not sure it's worth the savings...?

3. Speaking of Santa List, I've had a few people ask me what Kelsea might like for Christmas and/or her Birthday, so here's some ideas:

DVDs - Horton Hears a Who, WALL-E, Snow White (actually any of the Disney movies)

Pink Camera

Headbands - one of the few things she lets me put in her hair. Although since Alla's visit she's let me put pigtails and an occasional clip in her who knows

Clothes/Shoes - She wears 3T and size 8 shoes. She pretty much wears dresses or skirts, with an occasional pair of pants (again thanks to her friend Alla). And her favorite color is of course pink

Anything related to the princesses or dressing like one

Books are always good (and appreciated)

Games (can't go wrong because she only has Memory)

Hope that helps or gives you some ideas for those that asked...

4. We had our first parent/teacher conference today. I was told her cognitive and comprehensive skills were advanced for her age...BUT she needs to work on impulse control. Meaning she can't sit still. Really, Kelsea?! Oh and she is not always good about taking turns or sharing. Let's see what else did they say...she's very strong-willed and really doesn't like to be told what to do. Yah, me neither Kelsea, and I turned out alright. But I'm sure you got this from your father.

5. Christmas is only 4 weeks away, Kelsea's Birthday is just 3 weeks after that, and Lorelei is estimated to arrive 3 weeks after Kelsea's Birthday! Time is running out...

6. And yes, we have settled on a name, Lorelei (pronounced laura-lie) for those of you that did not watch the Gilmore Girls or Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

7) Done a lot of my Christmas shopping on Etsy this year. It's so addicting...I could spend hours browsing the shops...

8) Kelsea spent Saturday night at Grandma and Grandpa's house, so Wallis and I went to the movies! We saw Johnathan Demme's Rachel Getting Married . Not a good choice when you are pregnant and already very emotional. It took all my strength to stop myself from sobbing into the chair next to me. Luckily there was only a handful of us in the theater. I swore the LA Times called it heartwarming , but it must have said heartwrenching. Anyway for those of you that enjoy independent films (and don't mind watching a film with a hand-held camera) it really was a good movie (despite the angst). I might actually see it again (in the Spring).

9. I was cleaning out my e-mail a couple weeks ago and came across this photo from Thanksgiving 2003! Hard to believe Mazie was the only baby at that time. Between the 4 couples, there's now 7 kids with two on the way! And only Wallis and I are still living in California. Amazing how much can change in 5 years!

10. The Laughreys have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a wonderful time with friends and family this weekend!

Ten on Tuesday

So I really had no plans this week to do the usual Tuesday Ten. I'm tired and Wallis gets back from DC late tonight. I really just wanted to lay on the couch and watch Oprah.

Especially since I had one of those no bath, no books, Kelsea went straight to bed night...

Or maybe it's the stress of hitting week 28 and not feeling prepared to begin the final third of this pregnancy...

But when I got J.J's CD of pictures today I had to take a peek. And of course they were wonderful so I thought I should at least show off what pretty pictures she takes. So here's a few of our growing family

2.3. And one that will be framed in Kelsea's new big girl room
8. Along with this one9. And, well probably this one too
10. And I might have to frame this one for our room
Thanks J.J. for taking, editing and mailing these. I know how much time and effort it takes. I think I owe you a few more mascara's...

Ten on Tuesday

Strange to be off on a Tuesday, but we enjoyed every minute of it...well, except for Wallis who had to work!

We started the day off with waffles, bacon, hash browns, coffee and orange juice.

Somehow we managed to get out the door before 9:00 am and headed to the park. All the slides were wet so Kelsea decided to stick to swinging, until I suggested we get a pink juice.

That was the fastest we've ever left a park before, but I guess sipping on a Jamba Juice was a higher priority. Thank goodness we did, since we had to wait over 45 minutes for a 5 minute doctors appointment. I can't believe this is something I get to look forward to every two weeks now!

Next stop was baby Landon's house for a few photos. Hard to believe he'll be a week old tomorrow! In honor of 10 on Tuesday, here's 10 of my favorites (at least of those that I've edited so far)

Oh, the many faces of Tinkerbell

Happy Silly Excited! Look Mommy-I can fly!
I'm a little worried about the prospect of actually flying ...
What if I lose my shoes while I'm up in the air, Mommy? I think I need to leave my wings at home. I don't want my shoes to come off.
Silly Tink, without fairy dust the Wings won't work, so you can wear them. I promise sweetie, I won't let you leave the ground.
An impatience flower for an impatient fairy...
I'm ready to go get some candy! Can we go now?Notice something missing in this last picture? I guess she had it stuck in her mind that those wings would carry her up in the air and her shoes would fall off her feet. And we just couldn't have that happen now could we!?
