Ten on Tuesday

1. We took advantage of "Veterans go Free" at Knott's Berry Farm last Friday. Kelsea had so much fun, and hasn't stopped talking about Johnnie since. Thankfully Rick and Cathy's sisters came along too, because there were hardly any rides they would let pregnant women on! Check out their blog to see photos from the day. Thanks for taking all these Cathy!

2. I'm almost done Christmas shopping. Trying to decide if I want to be amongst the chaos this weekend to finish up the list. It would be nice to be done, and even nicer if I can find some sweet deals...but not sure it's worth the savings...?

3. Speaking of Santa List, I've had a few people ask me what Kelsea might like for Christmas and/or her Birthday, so here's some ideas:

DVDs - Horton Hears a Who, WALL-E, Snow White (actually any of the Disney movies)

Pink Camera

Headbands - one of the few things she lets me put in her hair. Although since Alla's visit she's let me put pigtails and an occasional clip in her hair...so who knows

Clothes/Shoes - She wears 3T and size 8 shoes. She pretty much wears dresses or skirts, with an occasional pair of pants (again thanks to her friend Alla). And her favorite color is of course pink

Anything related to the princesses or dressing like one

Books are always good (and appreciated)

Games (can't go wrong because she only has Memory)

Hope that helps or gives you some ideas for those that asked...

4. We had our first parent/teacher conference today. I was told her cognitive and comprehensive skills were advanced for her age...BUT she needs to work on impulse control. Meaning she can't sit still. Really, Kelsea?! Oh and she is not always good about taking turns or sharing. Let's see what else did they say...she's very strong-willed and really doesn't like to be told what to do. Yah, me neither Kelsea, and I turned out alright. But I'm sure you got this from your father.

5. Christmas is only 4 weeks away, Kelsea's Birthday is just 3 weeks after that, and Lorelei is estimated to arrive 3 weeks after Kelsea's Birthday! Time is running out...

6. And yes, we have settled on a name, Lorelei (pronounced laura-lie) for those of you that did not watch the Gilmore Girls or Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

7) Done a lot of my Christmas shopping on Etsy this year. It's so addicting...I could spend hours browsing the shops...

8) Kelsea spent Saturday night at Grandma and Grandpa's house, so Wallis and I went to the movies! We saw Johnathan Demme's Rachel Getting Married . Not a good choice when you are pregnant and already very emotional. It took all my strength to stop myself from sobbing into the chair next to me. Luckily there was only a handful of us in the theater. I swore the LA Times called it heartwarming , but it must have said heartwrenching. Anyway for those of you that enjoy independent films (and don't mind watching a film with a hand-held camera) it really was a good movie (despite the angst). I might actually see it again (in the Spring).

9. I was cleaning out my e-mail a couple weeks ago and came across this photo from Thanksgiving 2003! Hard to believe Mazie was the only baby at that time. Between the 4 couples, there's now 7 kids with two on the way! And only Wallis and I are still living in California. Amazing how much can change in 5 years!

10. The Laughreys have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a wonderful time with friends and family this weekend!

What a picture that is. I was pregnant with Jamie in that one. We all look so young. Thanks for the ideas for birthday gifts. I am going to start that next. That is a beautiful name (if you wanted my opinion). I love it and would have used it myself if Jeremiah's mom's name wasn't Lori. Great 10!

Oh, wow, that picture brings back memories! And certainly made me smile. Hope you're feeling well and getting some good rest. . . the second time around seems so much more exhausting!
